Gary and I finally saw the final Harry Potter movie today at our beautiful new movie theater. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. In the past, you could usually find me at the first midnight showing, but we’ve been consumed for the past week in looking for a home to buy here in Colorado Springs! I didn’t realize how exhausting the process could be. . . Good news though, as of last night we’re officially under contract on an amazing house! I am so excited, I just hope the next 30 days fly by with no bumps.
But back to Harry. Mr. Strong, my 7th grade first period teacher, started reading the first book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, out loud to our class every morning. I was hooked, and attended each midnight release of the rest of the books and devoured them in mere hours. I wasn’t dressed in costume, but I’m still open to being Hermione for Halloween in the future. Don’t judge!
The movie was amazing. Completely moving. I’ll admit I cried, a few times, and wiped my tears with my cardigan sleeve. It’s been a few years since I read the final book, but the important pieces I recall were portrayed just how I expected them, even better! I found myself recalling with more recognition certain locations in the movie because earlier this year I got to visit the amazing Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure in Orlando! I now give you, Portrait of a Place . . .
Yes, I bought a wand :)
Are you a HP fan? Have you seen the new movie?? What did you think?
J.K. Rowling, you are one amazing woman. Thanks for a wonderful ride!
O M G… Erin, I am absolutely OBSESSED with these pictures… Is there any way I can convince you to send me some of these so I can make prints and put them on my wall??
:) You’re so lucky to live in the same state as this wonderful place!
