So this weekend was truly a get-out-and-take-pictures weekend. Saturday it was Vandenberg, then Sunday after church we drove down to Santa Barbara to meet up with Gary’s sister who lives in L.A. as it’s a sort of in-between. None of us had been to Santa Barbara before so we Yelped and found the Paseo Nuevo Downtown area sounded fabulous :). The weather was absolutely perfect for an afternoon of strolling in and out of the many stores . . . I picked up two lightweight summery scarves {very California ;)} and a fabulous vintagey big right hand ring that totally reminds me of Jasmine Star–ha! :) The funniest part about being in Santa Barbara is that I felt like David Jay was going to walk around the corner at any moment because he lives there in Santa Barbara and the environment was just so “him”! David was Jasmine*’s wedding photographer and motivator of millions/one of the rock stars of the wedding industry.
We enjoyed our time together and when we found ourselves near a gorgeous ivy wall alley we whipped out our cameras:
Shortly after these were taken a security guard approached us to let us know we’d need a permit to shoot there, we excitedly told him that we weren’t on a job but were just playing around and that we’re family. Ha! We totally looked like pros! Passers by stopped to watch us shooting, too. It was my first real taste of this since being out here in California and it was f-u-n.
I promise at some point I’ll tire of the jumping pictures. That time has not yet come. Wendy and I unknowingly coordinated outfits for the day with our denim jackets ;)
I asked her to take a few photos of Gary and me and we got these cute images (you can see I borrowed her big hair flower): She caught us in some great light. Then I got this one of the pier in the almost sunset :)
She’s a great model! The view of beautiful Santa Barbara hills as we were leaving the beach to head home (too early!):
It was over too quickly, but I know I’ll be back soon. You stay classy, Santa Barbara :)
Happy Wednesday friends!
