Estes Park Meadow Wedding | Cris & Laura

At the beginning of October I had the pleasure of second shooting a beautiful heart-felt wedding in the mountains near Estes Park.  Bordering Rocky Mountain National Park, Wild Basin Lodge is this charming little place tucked away up a winding road.  The Aspens were in their full glory there at 8,300 feet, just blazing gold!  It was literally thrilling to arrive and realize this would be the backdrop for the wedding.  Laura and Cris couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!

These two met almost 7 years ago on Match.com–they’re proof it works!  Here they are seeing each other for the first time during their first look. I realized after this wedding that I totally can’t help but think of all the brides I get to shoot as princesses!  Something about Laura, I think it was her vintage-feeling gown and beautiful red curls had me thinking of her as a Guinevere type all day. . . just gorgeous.Opting to see each other before the wedding ceremony in a First Look made it so that we got some wonderful, relaxed portraits of the two of them.  A wonderful choice!
Oh, the aspens :)Are these not the most charming little attendants ever??I was so happy when Laura said the flowers were exactly what she’d been hoping for.  Delicate blooms were a must.During the family photos Cris’ mom helped him adjust his boutonniere.  Aren’t they sweet! The lovely meadow ceremony site on the Wild Basin Lodge property. The flower girl, Ava, was such a sweet presence during the day.  She was almost bouncing with joy for her Aunt Laura :)Married!I’m telling you, Laura knows how to work the camera!  Isn’t she gorgeous??  And Cris looks so Mr. Dashwood of Sense and Sensibility to me . . . So very happy for the new Mr. and Mrs. :)The rain held off for us most of the day until moments after we finished up the post-ceremony portraits. This lovely river had to be crossed by bridge to get from the meadow to the Lodge. The Groom had me smiling ear to ear as he softly sang the words to their song to his bride during their first dance. Cris and his mom danced to Rascal Flatts “My Wish” which was my song with my Dad, too :) Such a good one. Laura’s dress was so beautiful throughout the entire day, but I especially loved it bustled and being twirled!  Their appliquéd cake was a lovely compliment to the delicate florals and vintage-feeling gown.

I enjoyed every minute of Cris and Laura’s wedding day and being at Wild Basin Lodge on that beautiful October day.  I hope the new Mr. and Mrs. enjoyed their Cook Islands honeymoon and are getting settled into married life :)

As usual it was wonderful shooting for Danica Larsen, thanks Danica for having me!
