Brett and Kelly are that couple. That couple who are so in love, always smiling, kind as can be. It was a real pleasure experiencing their wedding day with them, their family and closest friends. Kelly, a Denver native and Brett, a southern gentleman were wrapped in love by their wonderful families from near and far – it was easy to see where their sweetness comes from :) As weddings always are, theirs was the beginning of a new path – once the festivities were over Kelly left Denver to join her new Mr. in Redondo Beach, California where they will start their life together. The story of their best day follows:
The ceremony was held at the church Kelly has attended her entire life, Good Shepherd Catholic Church near the beautiful Cherry Creek area of Denver.
The florals for the day were by Diz’s Daisys– I absolutely loved the bouquets! Kelly found her unique and beautiful Ivy & Aster gown at Anna Be Bridal Boutique.
Kelly’s shoes were J.Crew – her sister added the lovely bows! They were meant to be, both the bows and the sisters :)
Being that half the party was made up of southerners and one of them happens to own a store on the east coast that does monogramming – there were monograms everywhere, including all the men’s sleeves! I just love the bow-ties, too.
Rather than tossing petals, the flower girls handed out the stems in their baskets to guests along the aisle.
The bridesmaids wore rose-colored silk dupioni LulaKate dresses in the design of their choosing from Bella Bridesmaid.
The men’s suits were by Jos. A. Bank.
This gorgeous home was right across the street from the church.
Kelly’s gown was breathable, light and airy – the perfect weight for the 92° summer day.
I just love the playful Swiss dot material of Kelly’s gown – aptly named Sweetpea. And, it has pockets! She added the beaded belt to make it her own.
The reception was held on the roof of the Denver Athletic Club. Kelly and Brett brought in the majority of the decor, including the adorable variety of flower vases which they spent the last year or more scouting out and saving for their wedding.
They even brought their own chandelier to hang over their sweetheart table :)
It’s been my pleasure to shoot for John Payne for these last couple of weddings – we stole the couple out of the venue for a few shots downtown before the sun went down:
The cake and dessert bar were created by Das Meyer Fine Pastry Chalet.
I literally woke up smiling the morning after the wedding remembering Brett and Kelly’s first dance to “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. I gushed about it on Facebook, now here’s the proof:
Are they not the sweetest? If you haven’t heard the song, take a listen.
Then came the parent dances, first Kelly and her dad:
Then Brett and his mom :)
I majorly heart this one.
Commence dancing the night away.
All in all it was an absolutely wonderful day, one that had me happily noting how much I love being a wedding photographer. Thanks again to John Payne for having me along! Brett and Kelly were to spend a week hopping around the Hawaiian islands, I hope they had a fantastic trip and I wish them the best in their new journey :)
