Hello lovely blog! I haven’t forgotten about you. It’s been awhile since my last post because it’s been *quite* busy here in the Davenport world. For starters, Gary and I have moved! Not just from my beloved California to our new home state of Colorado, but into the first house that’s truly ours, our “first place”! I seriously feel like I’ve been in an episode of Property Virgins for the past 2 months, but of course it’s all been worth it :) We are loving our new place {more on how much I adore it another time}, even Claire is feeling right at home.
As the leaves of our Aspen trees are just starting to turn gold and the air is getting cooler I’m anticipating the change that’s soon to occur on many fronts. We’re about to experience some real seasons, which as Floridians we are not used to. Are you saying, “wait–thought you were from California or something?!” Confusing, I know–Gary and I claim Florida as we spent the past 10+ years there before our short (but wonderful) stay in California and our recent move here to Colorado Springs. Gary is in the Air Force and his training and now job are what have moved us all the way across the country during the past year. As buying a house indicates, we are scheduled to be here in Colorado for a good while! Yay! But back to change . . . there’s something cooking that I have been dying to share, and no it’s not a bun in the oven ;)
After Making Things Happen I had a consult with Lara Casey and we talked a lot about branding and the direction I want to go with the look and feel of my business. As a result of that work and the work of an extremely talented artist, calligrapher Moya Minns, I have a beautiful representation of me that I can’t wait to incorporate! It’s been the background on my iPhone, iPad, and computers for weeks and while the entire suite of the new look will remain behind closed doors for a bit longer, please take a look at this little sneak peak:
Peony image via with a little tweaking by me for color and feel.
I loved working with Moya, she completely took my wishes to heart and produced the swirly, gardeny, whimsical yet formal look that I dreamed of. I’ve collected lots of pretties as inspiration for the new look on Pinterest—tell me you’re on there . . . it’s a-mazing. Follow me if you’re already pinning–if you’d like to start, let me know and I’ll send you an invite so we can pin together :)
Whew! My am I glad to get that out. I’d love to hear what you think about the new direction of Erin Davenport Photography! And thanks for stopping by for the little update today. I’ve got some wedding photo goodness brewing for future posts as well, so stay tuned.
Lots of love :)
